A few thoughts on Webcasting

In my efforts to desperately keep the blog alive, here is an article I wrote almost 3 years ago when the Sruti Blog was kick started.

I guess the questions towards the end of the article are being answered slowly with time. There are a number of organisations who have taken up to webcasting and archiving these concerts online for free, like Parivadini, The Artery, Swati Samskriti Series, and many others. One of the first people who caught on to this craze, The CAF (Charsur Arts Foundation) have also been regularly webcasting their December Festival concerts for many years now, though at a small fee for the viewers. What do you think? Should these webcasts be charged, or should such content be given out for free?
